BSB51307 - Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety

The Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety is the new qualification for those who want to become OHS practitioners. It is a nationally endorsed qualification that is part of the Business Services Training Package.

The competencies in the Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety are stated in the qualification’s unit titles, see below. These competency units have been endorsed by the National Quality Council and reflect the competencies required in the workplace by OHS practitioners.

The SafetyLine Institute is a resource to help you study. If you wish, you can contact a participating training provider to seek skills recognition (RPL) or coaching and mentoring to gain the full qualification or a unit of competency.

To gain this qualification you need to successfully complete eight (8) units.  See the student course guide for further information and details of how the units make up the qualification.

BSBOHS507B Facilitate the application of principles of occupational health to control OHS risk
BSBOHS501B Participate in the coordination and maintenance of a systematic approach to managing OHS
BSBOHS506B Monitor and facilitate the management of hazards associated with plant
BSBOHS505B Manage hazards in the work environment
BSBOHS508B Participate in the investigation of incidents
BSBOHS503B Assist in the design and development of the OHS participative arrangements
