Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of individuals with vocational experience in Occupational Health and Safety roles who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

An individual undertakes this qualification as part of their job role. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification may include;

• Occupational Health and Safety Advisor

Pre-Requisites.  There are no Prerequisites requirements for individual units.
There is a significant amount of reading and writing and access to a computer is required for assignments and internet based research.

BSBOHS408A Assist with compliance with OHS and other relevant laws
Identify & Monitor Hazards 
BSBOHS403B Identify hazards and assess OHS risks
BSBOHS406B Use equipment to conduct workplace monitoring
BSBINN301A Promote innovation in a team environment
Management of hazard and risk
BSBOHS404B Contribute to the implementation of strategies to control OHS risk
BSBOHS401B Contribute to the implementation of a systematic approach to managing OHS
BSBCMM401A Make a presentation

Develop emergency response 
BSBOHS405B Contribute to the implementation of emergency procedures
TAADEL301C Provide training through demonstration and instruction of work skill

Assessment
Participants will be assessed in a variety of ways during the course; this will which include role play, case studies, demonstration and scenarios. The post course assignment involves the gathering of evidence relevant to all aspects of training and assessment in a workplace environment.

Certification
Upon completion participants will receive the Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety BSB41407
Upon completion of individual units of competency participants will receive a Statement of Attainment which is a progression towards the Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety BSB41407
This is a Nationally Recognised Qualification.
