Learn to manage work safety

The SafetyLine Institute provides learning guides and associated readings and resources to help learners at workplaces develop competencies in key units of the national occupational health and safety qualifications. These materials support the development of skills in occupational health and safety and assist workplaces in identifying and implementing improvements.

Please note that as at 23 December 2011 all the Readings and the following learning guides have been updated to reflect harmonisation of legislation: BSBOHS401B (June 2010), BSBOHS402B (October 2010), BSBOHS403B (February 2012). BSBOHS404B (February 2012). BSBOHS405B (February 2011), BSBOHS406C (November 2011), BSBOHS408A (December 2011), BSBOHS501B (July 2010), BSBOHS502B (January 2012), BSBOHS503B (September 2010), BSBOHS504B (January 2012), BSBOHS505C (January 2012) and BSBOHS508B (January 2012).

By mid 2012 February we should have harmonised and posted the remaining learning guides (506, 507).

Please note that all our learning guides meet the National Quality Council (NQC) Quality Principles and carry the ‘noted tick’ logo on the front cover to indicate they are nationally recognised and approved resources that can be used with confidence.

Some users have reported 'file corrupted' messages when attempting to open PDF files. If you experience such a problem, you need to download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader, Adobe Reader 9.

If you would like to gain skills and knowledge you can:

access the courses to view the learning materials;
enrol and study; and
if you want to, contact and additionally enrol with one of the participating training providers who are available to provide skills recognition or further training services if a learner wants to be formally awarded a qualification or unit of competency.
